HANNE

ABOUT

Mindfulness educator and supervisor.
Founder of Mindfulness Institute Finland.

Working with a relational model of human development based on
connection to self, others and life.

The journey from understanding to embodiment

My work is dedicated to mindfulness teachers, therapists, coaches and other helping professionals who have already invested in their own development — but sense that the next step is not more information, but deeper integration.

For more than a decade, I have explored how mindfulness moves from something we understand into something we truly live — through mindfulness education, pedagogy and relational human development.

Through my work as the founder of Mindfulness Institute Finland, I have trained mindfulness professionals and developed learning processes that support not only knowledge, but embodied presence and real-life transformation.

The heart of my work is a simple question:

How does mindfulness become the way we meet ourselves, others and life?

What becomes possible

When mindfulness becomes embodied rather than conceptual, a different quality of inner stability becomes available.

This is not experienced as a short-term improvement or a wellbeing practice, but as an investment in how life is lived over the long term — often shaping the next 10–20 years of personal, relational and professional life.

Over time, many people notice a gradual but meaningful shift in how they meet themselves and their lives.

There is more space between experience and reaction.
Greater clarity in emotionally activated moments.
Less fragmentation between professional knowledge and lived experience.
A more stable sense of presence in relationships.
And a deeper alignment between inner awareness and outward life.

At the same time, something begins to change at a more fundamental level:

-A deeper capacity for self-understanding develops.
-The ability to change automated patterns of response becomes more accessible.
-A more conscious relationship with oneself begins to form.
-And there is a growing capacity to lead, relate and influence life from a more integrated place.

This is not about becoming someone new. It is about what becomes possible when awareness is no longer something you practice — but something you live.

What we work with

This work is not about learning new techniques.

It is about deepening the integration of what is already known.

We work with three essential dimensions of human experience:

Connection to Self
Connection to Others
Connection to Life

These dimensions form the foundation of my work with professionals who are already trained in mindfulness, therapy, coaching or similar fields — but want to bring their awareness more fully into lived experience.

In practice, we explore how awareness shows up:

  • in relationships

  • under emotional pressure

  • in professional presence

  • and in the everyday complexity of life

The Relational Self-Leadership Process

My 1:1 work is a dedicated space for experienced practitioners who want to deepen this integration.

Together, we explore how awareness moves from:

something you know
into
something you live

This is individual work offered as a 12-week process via Zoom. We meet regularly online in a relational space where we work directly with what is present in your lived experience.

There is no fixed curriculum. Instead, we work with:

  • your real-life situations

  • relational patterns and responses

  • moments where awareness becomes unclear or inaccessible

  • and the integration of your professional knowledge into lived embodiment

The 12-week structure allows for continuity, depth and real transformation over time — rather than isolated insights.

I’m Hanne (Laasala) Savunen — Mindfulness educator, Supervisor and the Founder of Mindfulness Institute Finland.

For more than a decade, I have been working at the intersection of mindfulness, education, human development and professional practice.

My background is in Finnish teacher education, mindfulness teacher training and contemplative approaches to human growth. I hold a Master of Science degree and am a PhD researcher exploring mindfulness, self-compassion, emotional intelligence, wellbeing and positive psychology.

I am a Mindfulness Teacher through UCLA’s Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human Behavior and mindfulness facilitator trainer. Through my work at Mindfulness Institute Finland, I have developed professional mindfulness education programs designed to support depth, integrity and embodied practice.

I serve on the board of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA), contributing to the development of high-quality mindfulness teacher education internationally.

About me

Today, I work with mindfulness teachers, therapists, coaches and other professionals who are already deeply committed to their own development.

My role is not to provide more information, but to create a space where existing knowledge, experience and awareness can become more fully integrated.

A place where what you already know can become more consistently available — especially in the moments where life asks the most of you.

If this resonates with where you are in your own journey, you are warmly welcome to reach out and explore whether this work is the right next step for you.
